What is SIXPAK?
The SIXPAK concept is simple, players log into a tournament just like you do today. When the tournament starts you are seated 6 players to a table rather than 10.
The tables breakdown just as normal, however you stay at a maximum of 6 players to a table throughout the entire event. When you watch poker on TV, its with 6 people at a final table, a SIXPAK event gives you that 6-handed (final table-esque) experience throughout the entire tournament.
Short-handed games are exciting, fun, full of action. If you are too selective in the hands you play, you’ll find your stack diminishing rapidly. There is certainly more variance, which means more risk – but with increased risks, come increased rewards.
What's makes SIXPAK different?
Players get more action – you are in the blinds 33% rather than 20% of the time, that is a 65% increase!
Skill will prevail, however there will be more volatility in the event. You cannot play comfortable hands like AK, KK, AA only - you must react to a lot more offerings or you will not be able to climb to the top. What's more, bluffing just gained a whole new meaning - you'll be using that poker faceall tournament long!
Players can literally work on their final table and short-handed table play for the entire tournament - more often than not, players never get to experience this but for the one or two times they get deep into the final 1-2 tables of a tournament.
